My Story

Alchemy of Change

I’ve always been very empathic and had a natural talent for helping people. Being the oldest of four and needing to take on a caretaking role, I developed skills that continue to support me today. As a kid and teenager, I was involved in many community groups that utilized these talents.

I followed the accepted path in my family and got married young and had kids. Unfortunately, I ended up in a very toxic and abusive marriage. I lived in a constant state of confusion and stress due to being belittled, gaslit, and criticized. I was always walking on eggshells, and never felt stable. Like so many women who find themselves in this situation, I had to navigate coming out of it safely. Even though I was dedicated to helping others around me, I could not see the full extent of the situation I was in until I began to do the deeper work, being honest and examining myself. Through this process, I understood my childhood attachment trauma and how that contributed to where I ended up. I also came to understand, as an empath, how I ended up in a narcissistically abusive situation. I then developed a deep devotion and commitment to loving myself no matter what, choosing to ignore the voices of unworthiness left by a traumatic past.

After my divorce, I was left with complex PTSD and a nervous system that just would not calm down. This is the beginning of my somatic work. I was very active with talk therapy, but it wasn't until I understood I needed to communicate with my nervous system that everything changed. This began my education into polyvagal theory, nervous system regulation tools, attachment theory, and parts work. I started to understand how everything works together and that there was nothing wrong with me. I simply needed to reset my nervous system. Through this process, I experienced what is known as post-traumatic growth. It catapulted me into passionately studying and getting training in multiple modalities. I completed an extensive somatic trauma-informed certification, narcissistic abuse recovery certification, solution-focused coaching certification, and became a brainspotting practitioner.

In addition to understanding the somatic modalities and tools I was training in, I also utilized the healing power of sound. As someone who has been singing my entire life, I was drawn to sound healing instruments. Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, shamanic drum, combined with the healing power of the voice. The voice is a natural regulator of the nervous system, as the vagus nerve is literally wrapped around the larynx (voice box). Even the simple act of humming can affect your heart rate, digestive system, and your immunity.

My healing journey has been highly transformative in nature. It's not been a walk through the roses, but by choosing to just sit with compassion and love for whatever was arising, there was a natural transformation that came forth. The fear that was once paralyzing transmuted into a deep level of trust and safety in my body, enabling me to expand into my most authentic expression of self.

My Approach

My approach with clients is very similar to my own healing journey, beginning with creating a place of safety.  Much like a tree we begin with the root system.  Establishing safety is the foundation for further growth and expansion.

I work with each client to develop deep self-trust, supporting them in navigating a new relationship with themselves and creating new neural pathways that enable their greatest expansion. We dive into attachment style, inner child healing, and parts work that cultivates self-acceptance, compassion, and coherence. Keeping in mind that we can only go as quickly as the nervous system allows, I create a personalized plan that embodies a client’s goals while also being manageable and attainable at the same time.
